Meet Mirabel (Xiao-Ou) Xing, a New York City-based social worker and therapist whose professional journey has been nothing short of diverse and rewarding. With a focus on special needs children, crisis intervention for teens, and assisting low-income parents through coaching, Mirabel’s commitment to social and emotional well-being has touched many lives. Currently engaged in supporting end-of-life patients and coaching cross-cultural individuals during her free time, Mirabel’s dedication to making a positive impact is truly inspiring.
“As a therapist, I know well that coaching sometimes meets the needs of our clients more than therapy. To me, I need to keep learning and growing to help clients in ways that benefit them. UpThink’s course expanded my skillsets and broadened my client base. And I’ve been welcomed into a wonderful circle of peers, who have diverse backgrounds but a similar passion for personal and professional development with our knowledge from coaching!” – Says Mirabel.
Beyond her social work and therapy career, Mirabel boasts a background in journalism across Canada and China. Additionally, she founded and manages Learn for Empathy, a school that imparts essential skills like news literacy, critical thinking, writing, and public speaking to children.
