Our Mission as a Coach Training Provider
Our organizational mission is to train coaches that are competent, confident and contributors to the society and to the industry.
Competent: We are proud to be training coaches who honor the ICF Code of Ethics, understand the essence of ICF Core Coaching Competencies and skillfully use them in their work. All elements of our coach training program – workshops, observed practice, mentoring and supervision serve their professional development.
Confident: We foster coaches’ confidence in their skills and themselves. Confidence in skills comes from observations and feedback, mentoring and coaching practice. Confidence in self comes from supervision and reflective practice with faculty and peers in our alumni community. Confidence in self (and “self as a tool”) allows coaches to have a deeper presence, better self-awareness and greater empathy and self-compassion.
Contributors: We support our coaching trainees’ and alumni’s though leadership through their active participation in our community, the industry’s events, networking with coaches across the globe, and contributions through research and creative experimentation.
Our Vision
Our vision is to be a coach training school that trains coaches who help to advance the whole coaching industry worldwide through research, innovation, best practices, high standard of ethics, and thought leadership.
Our coach training philosophy is guided by a few principles.
- Experiential learning.
Coaching is a set of relational skills, and we believe that these skills can only be developed through practice and reflection on practice. Therefore, our coach training is highly practical and we have integrated a lot of peer sessions in each of our training modules.
- Evidence-based.
Our curriculum is built on the findings of coaching psychology as well as years of work with coaching clients. We want our coaches-in-training to trust the method, and know the science behind our training content, competencies and skills they are learning.
- Diversity.
We believe in the value of diverse perspectives. Our coach trainers, teaching assistants, mentors, and supervisors have different cultural and professional background, received coach training from different coaching schools and have different coaching niches – this allows us to provide equally valuably yet diverse perspectives to our coaching students. We all follow the same professional standard, and it is important for us to show the breadth, depth and beauty of the Competency Framework.
- Empowerment.
We believe that “to do is to know”. We support students and alumni in starting their coaching practice, we involve students in our community together with alumni and more experienced coaches. We support each coach in developing their individual coaching style by helping them understand their strengths and uniqueness, instead of simply replicating their trainers or mentors. We revise training and practice activities and formats as we proactively and consistently seek ways to anticipate student needs and enhance the student experience
- Support.
We believe in collaboration and the power of community. We can grow together, and coaches in our community support each other with professional development as well as coaching practice development. We involve our graduate coaches in our projects and keep offering growth opportunities to them.
- Reflective Practice
We believe in coaching supervision to enhance coaches’ self-awareness, challenge their own practice, recognize and own their personal and professional value, overcome challenges and enhance learning. We have included group supervision into our curriculum to help coaches build the habit of reflective learning.
