Overview
“UpThink Leadership” is a 7-month leadership development program which equips participants with practical leadership skills in three areas – Leading Self, Leading Others and Leading Culture.
The program is not traditional formal classroom learning or a series of disconnected workshops. The key outcome we are working towards is behavior change. We do not believe in cookie-cutter solutions. We will start with a non-obligation discovery call to understand your organization’s needs. We will offer a general program framework, and the curriculum is fully customized to support your organization’s business objectives and lead your team where they want to be.
The program design creates opportunities to apply learning in the workplace and make an immediate impact in participants’ day-to-day work.
Minimum group size: 5 participants.
Delivery format: face-to-face, online or hybrid.
Total training and coaching hours:
- 6 experiential group sessions in 6 months. Each workshop is 3.5 hours each
- 2 individual debriefs in the beginning and in the end of the program, 1 hour each
- 6 individual coaching sessions in 6 months. Each coaching session is 45-60 minutes.
- 3-hour Graduation and Project Presentation session.
Who the program is for:
Mid-level Managers, Team Leaders, Emerging Talents, Managers in the Pipeline, New (recently promoted) Leaders, Leadership Teams
Program outcomes:
By the end of the 7-month program participants will have:
- Enhanced strategic thinking skills;
- Improved their people management and staff development skills;
- Improved communication and collaboration skills including managing up, alignment and cross-functional communication;
- Increased self-awareness through one-on-one coaching;
- Started to develop their authentic leadership style;
- Learned coaching skills to support and develop their team;
- Applied the skills they learned in a 6-month self-selected project for their organization to show the ROI.
Before the program starts each participant completes:
- a character strengths assessment;
- a one-on-one with HR/Manager establishing individual learning goals for the program;
- One-hour individual debrief with a coach to create a PDP and choose a project for the next 6 months.
We will have 3.5-hour workshops based on our designed curriculum. We use facilitation skills and a range of peer/group practice activities to ensure learning and engagement in sessions.
Monthly coaching calls will support each participant with their ongoing development and will help to personalize learning from group sessions. Oftentimes participants bring a coaching topic related to the month’s focus, and work on getting clarity or action around that.
Each participants chooses a project (e.g. a current challenge/opportunity in their organization) to apply the new learning and bring a practical positive change. A coach will guide each participant to think about good opportunities for a project and discuss how it may be executed.
Before the program ends each participant repeats the assessments they did at the beginning. They have a one-hour individual debrief with a coach to create an individual development plan for the next 6 months, after the program.
Participants present the projects they have worked on during the 6-month program and explain how they applied the learning from the program. Learning debrief.
Participants get learning manuals for each module as well as additional resources for micro-learning. Micro-learning helps to combat the Forgetting Curve and improves learning outcomes.
